No you got some thing Wrong , If you had 7 moves , you are making a move and consuming one of those 7 and landing on a -4 move tile which means you are spending one move and losing 4 , you still will have 2 moves left.
But always skip / change those destiny tiles when you are close to finishing the lab.
He was left with only one move left, instead of two moves left.
