Gonna be fun to never get a gem stake again unless u are VIP10 or whatever... The people who run Tynon have no business making games...

You have to admit that this is way the arena should have been for servers 10+. Tynon should have realized that if you make GW server wide but kept Arena realm based, then when each realm eventually became essentially one guild, the arena would become stagnant. The concept of "defending your stake" became a joke. Arena was just place where you waited to collect your random prize. They could have renamed it "Half Hour Lottery"

The problem is, people have become used to this. Now Tynon wants to change it so that Arena is the way they intended it to be. But to do so at such a late stage when the game is no longer growing... From a business standpoint, if they can get the game growing again, this would be fine. New players would not know the difference and would not be complaining about this.

Before the top spot in arena paid out 5mil gold. Now there are 5 spots that pay 5mil or more. Before there were only 3 spots that paid out 5mil (1 in each realm). So OVERALL arena pays out better now than before. People should really quit complaining. Once they see the breakdown of the new arena payouts they will realize that they are getting more than before and quit complaining.

What do I think? Well yes it livens up the Arena and opens up a more interesting PvP game. So that's a definite plus. However, it has kinda dropped a dampener on the lower players and increased the reward gap considerably. As a guild we used to offer up rank 1 and 2 every Friday for HP and allow those guys to gain the rewards related to the aforesaid positions. It was popular and it really helped them out. Now that's impossible and many feel annoyed that Tynon has created a huge barrier in their path.

Not everyone likes the idea of a dog eat dog arena. There is the option of dropping out of the Ultimate Arena if it's not for you but the lack of rewards kinda makes that a dilemma. Overall there is a mixed reaction, some like the idea, others preferred the realm division.

You just contradicted yourself in two short sentences. The primary purpose of a business is to make money. VIPs make Tynon money. You're essentially saying the change encourages people to spend. Maybe some of the people who don't spend will leave the game, but if it encourages a lot of others to spend, then this would be a good business decision. It remains to be seen whether this happens.

am I missing something ? I m in ultimate arena, and I see theres 30 people there, but (as no. 1) I do not see a way to hit anyone lower than position 6, just as before..... theres no way to scroll back that I see.

So the huge players with the big leads get bigger leads in the one arena and all of us who left the big alliance realm to get away from them coulda saved our gems

Totally agree that there should be some sort of official patch notes so we can have some idea as to what is supposed to happen and what isn't.

Also, I've been saying we need some way to sell back our mounts for coins or something ever since they made the mounts useful.

Other than that and the bugs, this seems like a pretty good patch so far.
