We used to have a rotation during the weekend for our lower power players, and sometimes during the week, so that they can have a chance at the top spots in the arena. The point was to help some players reach a new title to help the guild as a whole, but also to keep our players interested in the game.
The new arena makes this impossible because our low power players cannot compete with the strongest players in the other realms.
I don't speak for myself, as I get a shot at first spot in the new arena if I decide to, and I can hold on to the 4th spot without being afraid of being moved. But I think the new arena encourages server disbalance. Why? Because it prevent guilds from having any system to help those who aren't top dogs. I don't feel the need to justify this approach. Not everyone agrees with it and it's okay. I just wanted to point out the result of the new arena.
I like the fact that I can challenge players from other realms in the arena, but I don't like the fact that we cannot control the arena anymore.
I forgot to add that we can't rig Heaven's Palace as easily anymore (if someone does not want to cooperate, I would imagine that it would be a real pain).Originally Posted by ChickenWing
Well good for someone that plays on a server without people that lie, cheat, steal and be bullies. Something tells me that in most cases UA is more damaging than good and there are many reasons why that have been posted on this forum.

Okay I guess I just happened to get lucky with picking which servers I play on.
You are truly missing something I am afraid.
The top 10 from each realm moves to Ultimate arena.
This means for servers that have 3 realms they have 30 people in Ultimate arena.
It means for servers with 5 realms that they have 50 people in Ultimate arena.
The people who are not in the top ten of their realm, will not be in Ultimate arena.
Those people see realm arena still.
I explained before how you can check it, just click to see someones profile and the realm arena rank they have, will appear there.
I am hoping you will just indulge yourself and check it so you see that you have misunderstood.

From the prespective of me and the guild I am in UA has caused a loss of income for the guild in general and a big loss of daily reputuation for me. 8 out of the 10 top spots in UA are now occupied by the uberguild from another realm. They got a big raise in rewards. I was 1st in my realm, now 9th so a reduction in rewards.
There is no stake stealing or farming, actually nother happens. The top quild is working the situation, letting some of their lower players in the top 10 take over the top 3 spots for a while to get the big reputation of 10k and bigger rewards. Our guild has been gamely working at staying alive and slowly gaining on the uberguild, or at least providing some competition. The change in GW shook things up at 1st to provide interest but that has settled down now and the top guild is happy to sit on all the coin cities and above. They have started guilds on the other realms and imported a couple higher power players so they will start winning cities back. Too bad those guilds are affiliated with the top guild and cooperate with them.
Anyway, this UA change has given the top guild a big increase in arena rewards and reduced the rewards for the other two realms. It's frustrating, frustration causes loss of interest.
Ok heres a suggestion then that might make people happy
All the rewards in UA get reduced - dont ask me by how much
then you get the rank awards from realm arena and UA. so if your still 1 in realm you get what you used to, plus a bonus for your rank in UA. The UA bonus would have to be balanced so that if you are #1 in both you get exactly what you get now for being #1 in UA
I like that. That makes UA rank a bonus.
