Royal Challenge and New Heroes
The Royal Challenge is a place where you fight new Heroes. You must beat one hero before you can fight the next one. When you beat a Hero, there is a chance that the hero with join you. If he does not join you, you can continue to fight him until he does. This does not stop you from fighting the hero that you have not beaten yet.
You enter the Royal Arena by clicking on the icon that is between the statistic area and the Championship Warfare icon. It has the picture an name of the Hero that you have yet to beat. When you click on it it open a window that has the picture of the Hero on top and some information about the Hero on the bottom. Moving the mouse pointer over the name of the Hero's skill the bottom panel changes to a description of the Hero.
There are two buttons across the bottom of the screen. The Replay button is there for any hero that you have beaten and the one that you have to beat next. When you click on it, it opens a list yo up to 5 replays that you can use to guide you on choosing a formation to attack the hero. The Challenge button is there for any Hero that you have beaten but has not joined you and for the next Hero that you have to beat. That is how you attack the hero. It costs 5 stamina each time you attack a hero.
There are scroll arrows to the right and left to the screen that allows you to see the different heroes. That is how you go to any Hero that you have beaten but has not joined you so you can fight him again to try to get him to join you.
Beating a hero does not unlock him. You have to get him to join you before it is unlocked. Once it is unlocked it is eligible to be bought at the Tavern and it may appear at the other places where you can get cards (the Fair, Guild Chests and the Card Broker, for example).
There is another way to get heroes even if they are not unlocked, and that is at the Casino (more on that later).
There is a sticky tread in the Hero's Tavern section of the forum with an index to treads that discus some of the Heroes and another sticky tread in the Story and Lore section of the forum with an index to treads that discuss formation on how to beat the Royal Arena Heroes and the Heroic Realm and Quest bosses.
Maria
Maria is a unique Hero in that is only available by wining her in the Casino, In the Card Broker, or buying her as part of some packages. When you first log on you you should have a package available on the Sale icon that has Maria in it. It is a limited time package and will go away after 7 days. From time to time holiday packages are offered for sale and sometimes Maria is included in one of them. So far the only one that has had it was one of the Easter packages, and it was more expensive that the one in the initial offer one.
Heroes Inn
The number of Heroes in the Heroes screen and in the rune area is now limited to 12. These 12 Heroes are the only ones that are available to use in a formation or to add starts to. All your other Heroes are in the Hero Inn.
The way you move heroes into the in, so they can 'rest' (although resting does nothing for a Hero) is to first remove all equipment and runes. Then select the Hero on the Heroes screen and click on the 'Rest' button that is above the helmet slot. When you select the main hero, instead of a Rest button, there is a "Hero Inn" button. That is how you open the Inn window. There is also a "Hero Inn" button in the lower left corner of the formations screen.
If you have fewer that 12 heroes 'deployed' (in the Heroes screen) then you can deploy additional Heroes until you have 12 that are deployed. You do this by going to the Hero Inn window and clicking on the Deploy button under the Hero's picture. Note that you can not get any information about a Hero at the Inn, such as saint levels, Saint attributes, or stars. You must deploy the hero to see that.
If you had more that 12 heroes before some of them were moved to the Inn and any equipment they had put in your inventory. Unfortunately the Runes that does Heroes had were moved to the Inn with the Hero. To recover the Runes you must 'deploy' the heroes one at a time, remove the Runes and, if you do not want him as an active Hero, return him to the Inn to 'rest'. There is no additional Rune storage, do if you had a lot of Runes saved you will have to combine them if you have more runes that you can store in the 12 deployed heroes plus the 20 slots in the Rune window. Remember that you will need enough open slots to remove the Runes from a Hero in order to send him to the Inn to rest.
Inventory and the Bank
Up to 99 Material used to upgrade equipment and Star can be stacked in one slot. Plans can not be staked. Jewels (use to embed in equipment can be stacked up to 5 and Heroes Cards can be stacked up to ???.
Sometimes there are more items in the inventory that the available slots. This can happen when you but an item or get it from some other source (like the Arena, the Casino or a Guild chest, for example). When this happens some items are hiding behind other items. You ab tell if you have hidden items as follows:
- Count the number of empty slots in the inventory (both window 1 and 2).
- Add that number to the number that is before the slash at the bottom of the inventory window.
- If this number is greater than the number after the slash, you have hidden items, even if you have empty slots.
By clicking Sort All all the items will be stacked to their stack limits and some slots will become available and some of the hidden items may show up on those available slots. In some cases items will remain hidden. If that is the case then you must do the following to un-hide them:
- Move one item at a time to an empty slot.
- If there was an item hiding behind the one you moved it show up in the slot just vacated
- Continue doing this until you have no more hidden items (the number of empty slots plus the first number equal the second number).
This can also happen in the Bank and the procedure is the same.
If the first number plus the number of empty lots is less that the second number the you have a lost item. This is extremely rare. It is caused by having a client failure (disconnect) when manipulating items, but it does not happen all the time. If the item is a piece of equipment, you will see it at the blacksmith not assigned to ant hero. If it is a jewel you will see it in the blacksmith as available to be embedded, In either case but it does not show up in the inventory, If you have a lost item you need to open a ticket. Provide screen shots of the inventory (both windows 1 and 2) or the bank, depending of where the item is lost at. Also provide screen shots of the relevant Blacksmith screens.
More than likely you will get that ticket closed with a 'canned' answer about doing a Sort All. If so, open another ticket with e subject "Please read the information provided before sending a canned answer" and in the text refer to the original ticket and explain the situation again.
