as for ezk vs herja themselves we all agree on that ezk is much more superior than herja since ezk's base p.def/s.def/m.def are superior while ezk gets 30% physical and skill resistance bonuses (yes there is a difference between defense and resistance), however the 40% magic resistance of herja i would prefer if ezk wouldnt have an even higher dodge rate than herja, so to me it would be a really tough call unless tynon would be designed to be more "mage friendly", so ezk is the obvious and by far better choice; to answer the OP's original questioin.
You would prefer to have 40% resistance to a damage type that is minimal when compared with the potential physical/skill damage coming from an opponents team? Interesting...
