I'm going to go out on a limb here and say we were not affected. I'm also double checking with our lead programmer to ensure that there is no issue. I've not seen anything come across my desk though, and there hasn't been a rise in misused password claims, so I'm fairly sure this is a non-issue for our players.

Careful here Andy don't unwittingly cause a panic. , I have played both Evony and Tynon and never once was any one account ever (or proved) hacked by a 3rd party other than by sharing account details. If there was a vulnerability then more accounts would have been affected rather than one isolated case.

uCool would also be duty bound to inform all their players to change their account details, especially passwords and a list of protocols to go through should your account been affected. Since none has been given Hartbleed or any other virus as far as we know right now is not to blame.

I know it is rare, but I also know of one player whose account was hacked last year. It was by some one that they did not even know. Tynon was able to restore the account and take care of the hacker once they were sure that the player was the rightful owner of the account.

As far as Hartbleed, it is a real treat if the website has the vulnerability. I am not saying that Ucool's web sites do, but it is possible. I am glad that devemata is checking on it. One of my financial institutions sent me a message recommending that I change my passwords because of the problem.

I'll make this blanket statement though, considering how people are and fall into patterns of comfort. If you have any passwords/accounts where hartbleed was a factor. It is prudent to change ALL passwords.

Wasn't getting at your obvious concerns, Andy but I just wanted to throw in a little reassurance before everyone thinks they've been affected by Hartbleed.

Yeah it's rare and it's mainly caused by the individual not being savvy enough with their details, be it account sharing or entering their details in a public place and not noticing someone looking over their shoulder, it's even rarer being hacked remotely. I mean exceptionally rare. To combat opportunist detail theft, change your account password regularly and use number and symbols for example Joanne could become J0@ann3.

There was a lot of reports on the Evony forums about hacking mainly because it was account sharing and the epidemic use of bots there. The bots are far less secure than going through the main site. However, davemata is going to check it out for us to make sure there aren't any problems and until then we will have to wait and see .

If the account was shared or hacked (even shared with a friend or guildie), then everything makes perfect sense. The (guildie) thinks:
"hey this person hasn't been on for several weeks ... let's make room for the guild. Oh hey I have the login too!! Hmmmmm"

So i sign into my account on the new server the other day and all of my inventory and my equipment was deleted! i refresh 5-6 times and it was still all gone i was also removed from my guild >.< i asked my host and vice-host if they deleted me and they told me no i was furious! so i wrote support about it and told them no one even gets on my account except me and they told me well don't share your password :| they didn't even listen and they said scan my laptop but i scan it every morning before getting on is anyone else having this problem or are they just picking on me?

I'm really sorry this happened. There's not a bug in the game that causes you to leave your guild and all your equipment to be deleted. The only possible explanation for this is that someone who has your password decided to sabotage your account. Our support staff may be able to restore some of the items, but they are correct that you should not give out your password, and this is a good example of why.

But guys no one has my account info i have said this multiple times now and have only ever signed in on my own computer at my house i don't take my laptop out and play this game, and i just want some answers sense i play the game and have for a little bit now i also pay for some things and I don't appreciate everyone blaming me for something i never did trust me I'm the only person who gets on my account

No one blames you for anything but someone got hold of your account details somehow.
