The problem with CW, crowns and the changes is that Bubbaslab won it way back when it started. With like 200m power, tops at the time. After it ran a while, and others were building up, then much later Riot beefed up to superpowers. THEN the change/crown stystem was put in place, Bubbaslab did have a terrible negative buff that week in CW, which affected him badly. After that it was taken off for some weeks. It has now been re-implemented. Now it is only like 2 crowns, on Riot/Blayd, and will take quite a few weeks/mos to start to balance out. Although there are some that are building very quickly.

The main issue I think some are proposing here is that there is an upper echelon that most "normal" players will never reach, as it's based on very deep pockets. I know I won't, I just don't have it. I don't begrudge them their due, if they can = they do, and more power to em. I do kinda like the idea of different levels, where the super guys don't always prevent anyone from ever reaching the round of 8, which is as low as prizes go, cuz it's already there. There are 8 that will be extremely difficult to beat. Or make the prize (lower but something) reach down farther to the round of 16/32. That is increasingly hard to win in.

But I don't fool myself, I think it's set up to reward the spenders. And the rest of us are supposed to watch, be envious, and follow suit.

My sentiments exactly... But then why punish the spenders in GW's same concept. They spent money to get their char up in power and levels.

if anyone truly believes the crowns in cwf are meant to punish teh winners - your wrong. If there were 2 or 3 players like blayd then YES it would. But as the field stands right now, The crown system is merely a token gesture on the devs part to make it look like they want to balance out CWF. I doubt blayd will ever lose cwf due to the crowns. By the time he has enough- he will probably have gotten bored with the game - or totally changed how much he spends on the game

I believe they were meant to handicap the winners... it's just they didn't expect one person to get so far ahead. Blayd will start losing after he hits all the important blacksmith caps and others start to catch up.

No one is going to catch up with Blayd. It's an unusual case. The crowns would be effective way to balance if this, now, 1 bil power player didn't exist. I don't envy those behind the scene; they are putting things into play but that can only do so much.

I like the GW changes. It has increased competition and the fun in the game. A guild is about a team not just 1-3 awesomely ridiculous players. So all is swell.

CW isn't a team sport. It's PvP ... So I don't think it can be handled the same. BUT if there was a way to make things more interesting by balancing out the playing field without extreme measures taken out on only one player or exclusion then that would be great. The crowns were an idea; a good one. Not so sure about the ones mentioned by the OP... but maybe there is something else that can be done.

For instance... Nah, that will take me way too long to write and will prob be a confusing mess after I finish - but you all are very smart people... Sure other suggestions are out there.

If that is the case, then take the crown system away please.

It is put in place to allow for others to have a chance to win.

I would propose there be bracketed CWF at all levels with prizes for all brackets with varying level of prizes so the CWF is more meaningful to everyone.

Mattp169 like to call my name "Blayd" out a lot on these posts and he likes to "roflmao" a lot. I get it.

Your floor must be full of wear marks from your body rolling around.

This is one of the suggestions about how to make CW more 'fair' that I really like. Small prizes all over based on various types of grouping.

You could have several categories for power (200m, 100m, 70m, 50m, etc...), HR progress (judgement relic boss, justice relic boss, ... etc), RC progress (prop EZ, scipio, khan, etc...) ... and maybe even a prize or two for 'biggest upset victory' (based on % power your opponent had over you).

I like the bracketing idea a lot. We all know by now who is the best, biggest, and all that. So let them duke it out. Let others of the next bracket try their hands at it, and be rewarded for their investment, and time and effort. I like that a lot.

Besides, the winners of the past have gear and heroes that are not available to the rest, so it's not really ever going to be a fair challenge. (Not even counting the stars/doms/seraphs, etc.)

The main problem with cw is only top 8 get rewards and the rest only tickets. Take away the 2000 tickets for signing up (takes outs out peoples alts who just sign up to farm).
Then the top 512 get the 2000 tickets and then increase rewards for each stage they make it. The top people deserve all the rewards they get now don't want to take anything from them. But it would make the rest more competitive for the ones who know they won't ever make it in the top 8. Yes people will still get to bet who don't make top 512 but make it impossible for the ones with 50 alts to bet on all of them. I know the top 8 don't change very much unless someone gets a hard matchup early on. Other knockout stages switch people more often.
This would be a much better way then having to worry about people being bracketed. People would find out when they bracket and drop power right before it just like heaven palace.

Everyone is focusing on winning CW. From my point of view I will never do that, but I do have a chance of making it to the quarter finals again. That will give some nice rewards. The only reason I made it that one time is because I has opponents that, not easy to beat, I was able to do so with very slim margin of victory by adjusting formations and even the heroes that I was using.

Bracketing alone, although a fair way to do it, would not help me because there are many players that are significantly stronger that me and would keep me out of the quarter finals. We need something similar to the crowns that would give a chance for players like me to make it to the quarter finals. maybe something like those that have made it to the quarter finals get a 'quarter final' crown that would only be effective up to the quarter finals and the same kind of thing for the semi finals.
