    Banish practice

Because banish is such an important event, I think it would be nice to introduce a new feature where people could test a banish formation. Baal could be part of the rankings for instance, and anyone could practice their fighting skills against him when they want. The result button would show the total damage dealt on baal.

Please, give your thoughts on this and vote whether you think this is a nice feature or not. I'm not a fan of the, "There are more pressing issues" argument. It's not hard to implement, so why not.

First off: Banish is not such an important event. It is one of several events on your daily events list. Perhaps one of the reasons the developers chose to cap the rewards of this event is to keep it from spiraling and giving vastly disproportionate rewards compared to all the other events.

Second: people can test out their formations in action, simply by watching their own fights. In other words, this feature adds no real value.

Third: the more buttons you put on a device, the more newcomers get confused (without a tutorial guide). The only location to put this button (if you REALLY want this thing) would be on the ranking page where you can already practice vs other players.

Cuddles' Law: The volume of a player's whine is directly proportional to his/her VIP level.

    1. .... It still gives more rewards than any other event (especially for those who are hitting the cap). Pretty sure it is the most important event.... what event do you think is more important?

    2. You know very well why people would prefer this to watching the fights while they happen.

    3. Just put cerb or baal at the top of the rankings list for people to challenge. Won't really be that confusing...

A long time ago I had a dream of programming a somewhat simple code as a world boss simulator... then I gave up. True story.

I like the benefits of a boss practice in that you can test forms without being penalized in real banish, i.e. switching forms in the middle of wb and making lower damage than usual for the sake of experimentation. But the not-so-good part is that things would be too easy then, or at least much easier. An "ideal" formation would be much easier to devise with this kind of a feature, and that takes some of the fun out of banish.

I think part of the challenge and fun of Banish is experimenting during the actual event and coming up with new forms and thinking of ingenious metrics to gauge the efficacy of various forms. Practice banish takes the fun and challenge out of it.

And Cuddles, you seriously need to STOP with the, "banish is just another event.. banish is too important.. other events needed to be revamped," crap.
    1) Nobody else agrees with you.
    2) Banish as the main event is a FUNDAMENTAL part of the game. If you don't like it, just quit and find a different game.

Ok thanks. Glad you could understand and comply.

    1) That's quite the hasty generalization
    2) There are reasons the developers have instituted a cap. I understand that you disagree with it, and I'm sure it's in your best interest to have it removed. It would be in my best interest too to have it removed (doing 85%+ on 1.25b), twice/day.

The difference between you and me is that I pause to consider the "other" people. Those who work full time and whose schedules cannot attend either or both of Cerb and Baal. For this reason Tynon has a large variety of events throughout the day, such as GW, Lady, Ragnarok, and more on the Daily Events button. Naturally the hardcore players (and most vocal) will always favor the highest reward events, and that's fine. They are free to have their "favorite" event. But they are not the only group of players. As a company, Tynon must consider all the groups of players, most especially both the hardcore players and those who work full-time and barely get home in time for GW (missing both banishes).

This place isn't to debate whether banish is the best event or not. Of course it is.

It's a place to debate whether it's good or not to have a result button for banish.

Some people seem to think that this would remove the spirit of banish. So much for the spirit... I personally do not enjoy banish. I just keep refreshing for an hour or 20 minutes depending on who is online. I think I would enjoy practicing to set a formation. Right now, all the work needs to be done on paper beforehand. Being able to see what works and what doesn't work in a form would be really nice. The only battle I get to watch at the moment is the last one before he goes into rage mode. I don,t have a very good sample, and I will never get one because I want to earn as many coins as possible from each banish.

What fun is there experimenting during the actual event? It pisses me off because I want to refresh but I also want to see what is going on: "Oh! I just dealt 7%, I want to see this!... But it probably lasts 15 rounds, so I better not."

    Who thinks this is fun?

I'd use it if it were there, But then everyone would be a banish genious and I'd get less rewards... So, I'm not going to scream for it. Other than that, it's a good idea. Maybe attach it to VIP rewards.

Banish WAS the most important event. Once your guild gets to the 6.25 bosses, it will cease to be important and you may even start to skip them from time to time.
