Maybe not selling mounts to other players is the answer but rather selling them back to Buros Hunter might be. Players can upgrade their mounts but there isn't the problem of 'alt trading'.

I have always been a proponent of in game trading.
This opens a door to new advantages for this game. Allows people to have an economic and currency system. However, to do this, the system would have to strictly enforce 'NO ALT' policy so people do not game the trading system with 1000's of alts rolling free casino, etc.
Needless to say, this game is far from being able to do this, so trading will probably never be allowed, thus limiting how much this game can grow like other MMO's that have hit massive proportions
I don't see Trading mounts only is a problem, we ain't trading for anything else, and definitely there is an idea to stop alts for example.
Selling a Tiger requires lvl 80
Selling a Bear requires lvl 100
Selling a Dragon Requires lvl 110
etc..
There is always ideas for trading to keep things secured and fair
There is always ideas to avoid alts. we ain't selling items or chips , or runes or anything , its just a useless mount in ur " Mount Inventory ".
Never Give up on your dreams , Keep sleeping!
I would be happy to see mounts made to resale back to the mount merchant. That way, people can buy it from the merchant and put the unused mounts back in circulation.
To hold on to a dragon when you are not using it is not a good thing and makes no sense. Especially when there is only 3 per realm.
