There is a marketing strategy like this. The point is, the other packages are there to make the $99 one look better. Makes people think their smart buying it, when they are just wasting money.

Ofcourse its marketing. But marketing 101 you want the consumer to spend more, impulse buying would be more sufficient on the 199.00 if it had better items than the 99.00. And who are you to say i am wasting my money? I could blow 500.00 in one night at the club buying rounds for my friends. Is that wasting money or having a good time? Peoples perception of how others spend there money is to there own who makes it. Like i told my neighbor, When you start paying my light bill i will start turning it off...
