I agree. There is inconsistency with how mounts are being rolled out. It makes no sense that you have to gain rep to obtain a certain title to obtain the dragon and wind runner. Yet, you can get a better mount than both of them without any pre-requisite for rep or title. The coins are not that hard to come by over several weeks, (much easier than obtaining rep). Why would anyone even bother with Dragon or WindRunner now? Had this change in strategy to obtain mounts were made known, I am sure many people would not have worked so hard to obtain the rep to gain Dragon and WindRunner. They could have just saved their coins to get the best mount. It is these change in un-announced strategy changes that makes little sense.

It feels like Tynon is only concerned with making a quick buck and rushing easy to put out changes, when there is still a lot of things such as additional heroics and quest lines that has been stalled for a long time now.

Maybe it was an oversight? But I doubt it, they just are in a hurry to roll out something.... and don't have more real content to add at this time. They will take gems any day, they don't care about fair. 40k gems is not something many will just toss out, or can, for a mount. I suppose they don't plan on selling many.

From what I,ve seen of people buying mounts with gems, they get 1 or 2 stars. Rarely 3 or 4. Nevre above. I only saw people do it for lower mounts, but it shows a tendency. Not really a game changer considering the amount of gems spent.

1 - 2 stars in any mount is nothing in terms of gems.

Now if they gave you 6+ stars guaranteed, it may be worth it. But even at 6+ stars it doesn't come out better than just buying it and taming it.

You are better taming to 4 stars and feeding it to 5th+

One quick fix they can do is to add the value of the mount into XP when you do transfer (of course with 25% removed).

Ok, so I only have a Bear now. Should I get a Dragon, Windrunner, or Chimera?

The more you transfer, the more you lose experience. If you do it twice, you have 49% of your original experience left (0.7x0.7=0.49). This means that you should not transfer to the newest mount every time. You are better off tranfering only once, or as little as possible.

Tynon said that they didn't want defensive capabilities to get out of control, but the new mounts have more and more HP. It doesn't seem to make sense to me, but hey.

The choice of changing to another mount isn't easy. You need to pay coins, but also lose experience. If you plan on getting another mount in the future after that mount you just bought and transfered to, this means the coins you spent on buying a mount will be lost forever (bad investment). Moreover, you get less experience in the end because you do multiple transfers (bad investment).

So buying a new mount is a bad investment considering that you'll eventually change to another mount. You would be better off getting directly to the last mount you want. The problem is, which is the last mount? There will always be new ones, which makes it seem like Tynon is forcing us to make bad investments.

Right now, I have a white bear. At the moment, I'd be better off with a dragon. But I know someday I'll get the chimera, so I'm not wasting experience and coins on a dragon. But once I get the chimera, a new mount will be out, making the chimera a bad investment.

This is exactly what happened to Herby. He bought the Windrunner and found out he had made a really bad investment with what seemed to be a good investment.

Yes, there will be other mounts in the future, and we'll have to decide when we want to make bad investments. I'm not a big fan of this system. We invest in heroes, build them up, and they all remain useful for the most part. But mounts, you just get rid of them once you get to the next one. At least if you could sell them.

Here's a suggestion that might fix some of the issues. In addition to HP, mounts could give other stats. Some attack / defense and maybe even crit/block/dodge/hit rate/resil in very small amounts (1 or 2 per star). Make them different for each mount so it would be worth collecting them all for endgame.

Based on the fact that each of the mounts has a limited number available for purchase, I doubt they expect us to buy them all anyways (or at least I hope that is not their intention, would either be real stupid or genius if it was).

There are only 3 mounts per higher mount. It is very possible that 3 players on a server end up buying them all.
