I don't think that is the strategy for Tynon.

More likely they expect you to keep upgrading and pay the on going Gem fee to do 100% exp transfer to the new mount.

Keeping you at a steady 4 - 5 stars for most players but progressively gain hp as you upgrade mounts with more coins to spend .. slowing you down from achieving end game black smith and rune levels.
