    [Suggestion] Replace Guild Wars

    Hi All

Now sifting through the suggestions and came up with this hodgepodge of ideas and suggestions from this forum and other similar games. None of these ideas are particularly new but I'm applying them in a slightly different format. Hopefully you guys think it will address some of the issues surrounding GWs and try and create a much more fairer and interesting game.

    Guild Buffs

As it stands no guild can have buffs unless it actually holds cities, hence GWs. It gives too much emphasis on the rise of uber guilds. Many of the recent merges have seen once successful guilds all but disappear because they are being ousted by much bigger ones. It hasn't improved competition but kept it the same, just different people.

So this is what I came up with. Instead of cities giving the buffs, why not be guild level related.

    For example;

    • Level 1 10% reputation income
    • Level 2 30% reputation income
    • Level 3 60% reputation income

The above buffs will be stack-able so the guilds at level 3 will now receive 100% reputation income.

    • Level 4 Extra 3 guild chest chances a day
    • Level 5 150% increase gains from P.stone, shrine and killing monsters
    • Level 6 100% on Pirate rewards
    • Level 7 Extra Labyrinth daily chance
    • Level 8 150 free daily stamina
    • Level 9 and 10, these are open to fresh ideas

As you see, it still keeps the same format, except I switched the level 4 and 5 around to prevent too many alt guilds benefiting.

Now on to what to replace Guild Wars with

So that might resolve the buff issues but it still leaves a gaping Guild Wars size hole. Now this could be replaced with something like 'capture the flag' or a combination of a PvE and PvP event. A dungeon style event where each guild teams up to either find the 'treasure' or an opposing guilds flag facing off both enemy guilds and an array of monsters. It'll require teamwork and strategy to complete it rather than relying solely on numbers and power.

At various points there will be opportunities for players to heal but not in between battles. Each player will receive a reward for taking part (say, similar to what GWs offers now) but the winners will receive some nice prizes for coming out on top. Medals, hero cards and suchlike.

    Discuss.

It's pretty similar to one of the idea in this (may as well give Matt most of the credit): http://bbs.tynon.com/showthread.php?...-Improve-Tynon

I like it. I hope they would introduce new ways to earn guild contributions though, since contributions basically guarantee bonuses. Rather than strong guilds forming, there might be rich guilds forming.

I like guild wars. Most of my server likes guild wars.

Try playing on a server where guild wars is server-wide, and you'll change your view of things.

As I said it's not new and I certainly am not claiming as my own just putting fresh perspective on it. I agree with the 'rich' guild forming but that is more or less what's happening now. I don't think there is anyway that's ever going to evened out. That said with the realm guild war format on 1-10 all the big players aren't huddled in one guild since they get the much hallowed buffs.

I have and it's pretty fair to say it's one sided. Tynon have addressed it and made it less likely for one guild to hold all their cities but it's created a field of alt guilds all out to outbid the genuine ones so the all powerful guild can keep it's buffs. The actual event itself can be fun but it's not exactly fair.

i like guild wars too and after they are removed, its just something less to do. even though our server is dying, GW is something players actually log in for and make time to help the others in the guild out and after all, the bonuses are for everyone. if you take that away from them, then even less will be coming back

Outbidding cost guild funds and what ever amount you bid will be lost from your guild funds so alt guilds should not be able to keep up with an active guild if they are bidding high like 700 or so. Anyway now with the the GW changes its fun wherever GW is server wide. If tynon need to change anything they shoould decrease the amount of players in a guild and make leveling up guilds faster. This will make people ofrm more guilds and also not lose out on guild level by having less members

You don't really know GW till you play outside servers 1-10

700 contributions isn't hard to culminate, that's 14 small investments.

Yeah I get the 'it's more interesting' but I wonder how many of you who think it's better are in the guild that holds nearly all the cities? I've seen both side of the story but I'm not saying not have a guild event but replace it with something that has less impact on the players who aren't in the top guild.

As for decreasing, you start with 30 player and you don't get the maximum membership of a 100 until you reach level 8. It was reduced from a starting amount of 50 so that's already nerfed, too much and it won't be worth creating a guild.
