Best way to power up weapons for banish?

Should spend gold to upgrade swords or spirits for my hitter in banish? Also, how much should I upgrade the swords or spirits on my stunners? Which should I prioritize to get the best result?

For physical heroes, I do them somewhat evenly since I skill each turn. For mages, just focus on their staffs (spirits to about level 20 or so, but no heavy investment).

If your physical heroes still do physical attacks (so without lb spirit and herja combo), you should work on swords more. Spirits are a little more expensive and take a little longer to level up.

Spirits have NO effect on mages. Do not invest in a spirit for Shayd or Brynn. Yes for Cianna or Thucydides, also good for Calvin who makes a good banish sub. Weapons upgrades for all are good ideas. Accuracy runes for your stunners also good investments.

Spirit items improve magic damage, though not by much. You want to know what's more cost effective regarding the coins you spend and the additional magic damage you get. Is it the staff or the spirit? Make some quick calculations and you'll see which one you should upgrade.

You also want to improve your spirit gear to higher grades for the bonus stats they add to your mages (critical hit, dodge, and block)
