Thread: Royal Frustration

    Royal Frustration

For weeks now do I try to get general Alcibiades in the royal challenge. It has already cost me much stamina and I keep defeating him, but so far no recruit. As far as I can count this is really not the 7% change of recruiting and I wonder of there is no bug on my account involved.

I see a lot of lower power players getting him, but I keep wasting stamina trying to recruit him. So far I keep powering up, sometimes I defeat him three times in a row, but I simply cannot recruit him.

Anybody having the same problem. When I discuss this with other players who got him, I am already way over the stamina and attempts they made to get him and this makes me feel really upset and demotivated.

So far I am upgrading my formation to defeat queen Bryn, since I gave up on trying to recruit general Alcibiades.

Just luck or lack there of, some come quickly others can feel like they take forever. 7% success rate is recalculated each fight so it could, if you are very unlucky, take 1000's of stamina.

7% is not recalculated each fight... it's just a predetermined sequence and the 7% is almost meaningless because the RNG is NG.

To OP: you have an unlucky sequence... unless you really need him, you should wait until you could beat him 100% of the time before spending more stamina.

It may be predetermined sequence as you say, but I am pretty sure that each instance of the sequence id calculated separately using the percent value, so everything said about that still applies. If it was not then everyone would get him to join in the same number of wins.

I defeat him about 4 out of 5 times and if I lose, it is a very narrow defeat. I just gave up on him and will focus on Queen Brynhildr and try to get her down, so I can move on. I need my stamina more for the labyrinth and upgrading equipement, than for getting frustrated with a hero I cannot get.

7% means that on average, people get it at 14-15 wins. This could be a normal distribution (which will probably be created if each instance of the sequence is calculated separately using the percent value)... or it could be 25% of people getting a 40% chance and 75% of people getting a 5.5% chance.

I know I've seen an insignificant amount of 'data' for it to mean anything, but I still doubt that each 'roll' is independent from the last in any of tynon's luck-based features.

Alci is worth the hassle. He is a great asset and his mage defense is very handy when battling Bryn. I had a different hero that took forever to recruit. We all have them just keep going back. Take a little break. Do your labs and things first. When you are finished if you have some stamina left over use it for another try or two then stop. Less frustration and when you least expect it tada he joins you.

I play on two different servers. On one, Gen. Al dropped the first time I beat him. On the other, he was much more stubborn, took weeks after I beat him for him to drop. So, just keep at him, eventually he'll drop.

Knowing how this game works with this kind of stuff I would say it's a predetermined amount of wins to unlock him though it isn't something we can test. I know when it came to Scipio my guild leader spent around 28k stam to finally unlock him, but I used less then 100 stam to do so. I would say just use the bonus stam you get twice a day until you finally do unlock him.
