There is nothing wrong with assumptions. When nothing happens for months on end then assumptions become fact and its starting to look like fact.
When having a discussion its always good to hear what people think. Whether truth or rumours, the lifeblood of a forum is to allow people to have an opinion without dissing them.
Sometimes its good to bitch a little and express feelings thoughts and ideas no matter how wrong they may be. and sometimes its just plain funny to read what others think especially when they are barking up the wrong tree. we see many instances of this on the forum here and it stops the same boring bits n bobs appearing over and over again.
I find it rather logical that people will make assumptions after communication has been lacking for so long. Managing expectations should be part of this business as far as I am concerned. I don't think we are asking for too much here.
Secondly, what is normal in other games seems to differ from game to game.
Communication about what is going on is more regular than this radio silence.
New content is desperately needed even if it is just a small thing like giving us wolf claws.
However, what is even more needed is information and communication.
At this rate the game is becoming unplayable for me.
My bank space/inventory is filled with stuff I can't use, but can't throw out because I will need it at some point. There is absolutely nothing left to do, but Banish and the occasional chat if you are lucky enough to still have a chat going due to the many departures. When chat is going though it is mostly filled with unhappy people who are growing more bored with Tynon every day. I truly hope a lifeline is coming soon.
This dead end is killing the game. Information would help keep hope and spirits up.

Everything is wrong with assumptions. I remember back a couple of years ago people were coming to conclusion that Evony was being 'shelved'. Seems they were wrong weren't they.
Assumptions lead to rumours and rumours end up being a false fact. I've already told y'all how uCool operate about launch dates and suchlike, none of us here work for uCool so email Support for more information. If you aren't happy and want to quit, quit but telling everyone the game is dying or about to be closed based on a theory is totally wrong.

This statement which we are all supposed to bow down to and accept as fact, the way you have put it, is based on numerous assumptions, first and foremost being that this is both true and acceptable. Sure perhaps you are right that, and hell, it may even be possible that it is acceptable by some, for a game to have an update schedule of 6-8 months but only, ONLY!! if the game released in the initial stages can be regarded as a relatively complete product.
If you are wanting to say such a thing then lets get some "facts" as I see them, clearly exposed and on the table.
This game is a year old and to date it's core has yet to be finished, I highly doubt even, that it's ever been clearly established, what the end is, within the walls of ucool's offices. We have never had complete access to quest/heroic/set/level aspects, it's always been a case of getting certain things or to places and not actually being able to use them fully. If you want to release a product then make sure that what you are releasing is finished for what you are releasing it for. If the level cap was supposed to be 100 then make it 100 and don't have items for level 120 visible. If you wanted to release a certain number of sets then release them when they are all complete so there are no questions surrounding further content. Don't show us lvl 110 rewards and not let us get there for 8 months. Don't spam our backpacks with plans we can't use, don't give us access to materials we have no use for, don't give us maps that aren't completed... It's all a guessing game... Nothing is expressly communicated, patch notes are rare or no existent, communication for the last few months has been pathetic. For me this is unacceptable and I think your statement about the time between updates is nonsense especially when considering the state the game has been in since it's inception. What's left, given the above, other than assumptions really?

well said BGB that is exactly how i feel and i am sure we are not alone that way.
sorry morgan, i have to disagree with you on this one and have to point out that BGB may be too "assuming" in assessing the situation but so are you. because you have no idea either what may or may not be planned for the future. you keep on defending the "new guy" after the "old guy" stepped too much up without knowing what his plans are either. at least the "old guy" cared about this game in some form and showed others his interest by posting comments, giving updates, heads-up and offering help in taking care of tickets for others. you defended the "new guy" and said he needs to read himself into it, etc and thats fine with me. however if i would take on a new job and would take any longer than a week to "read myself into it" then i would step down and find something i actually care about doing.
also i disagree with the "ucool bad at revealing new stuff" because we knew about the royal challenge ahead and even you said once that they always test their stuff on your beloved beta server. so where are those tests now since at some point you also said they are preparing stuff, letting others catch up and dont remember exactly what anymore.
when you tell things like that i intend to believe it because you are a mod and maybe on occasions know more than we do but the more i read about this and you defending ucool, the more it makes me believe that the "Abendrot" is near.
I absolutely agree with both Wildflower and Scorn. Well thought out comments from both of you.
They did test the Royal Challenge on Beta. It was on there a week before going live. Dawnseeker did create a thread on new heroes and such forth before it went it launched but it was only hints. That is the only time it happened and that was after everyone nagged him. Dave is not Dawn, like it or not he's all we got even though he's not communicated at all.
If you want information then I suggest you email Support, as I said I get why people are upset but everyone is making it a whole lot worse moaning 'the game is dying' or 'it's going to be 'closed'. You don't know that, I don't know that and saying it doesn't make it right or true.
It's based on other MMOrpgs I've played. New content is released periodically. Part quoting a comment out of spite doesn't make it right as I did say this;
I'm actually on your side, alienating me and twisting my comments won't help you get your new content will it?

Honestly, making assumptions is a rather human behavior, we do it all the time.
Communication is difficult without making them.
Whether an update is coming or not coming;
A positive assumption shows optimism, where a negative assumption might show pessimism,both are assumptions unless we are shown some proof of one or the other.Apparently a message from support saying an update is coming is not enough to count as proof for this community, it seems they have lost faith.
They need to hear it from Dave Mata or an employee from Ucool.
In the end communication is the best way to avert assumptions being made; manage expectations.
