Not sure about that. I think beating them gives you shrine bonus and do not necessarily have to own him.

When rolling taveryn, it is ot your advantage not to own ever useless gold and purple heros. So they do not pop up and dilute your chances of getting the better heros when they do pop.

Yup, you are right. When you beat a Royal the bonus is added to your account regardless whether you own the hero or not.

As for recruiting useless heroes, it kinda works both ways. You have increased your chances of rolling a useless purple/gold but you have a better run on a Tuesday for spirits.

    Up to the individual really.

Did you test this? I've always been wondering. Since the tavern has predetermined types, it could be entirely possible that your chances don't increase depending on how many cards you have.

No it doesn't. Its a chance to get a gold and a chance to get a purple and if you are to get a purple or gold card it will pick out of the ones you have. So its better not to recruit the heroes you don't want because then they are not in the rotation and you have a better chance of getting a card yo want.

I spend about 180k to 200k credits on a Tuesday and I usually get 8-9k spirits. Within 10 refreshes a card normally hits. If I get a card I don't want, I simply don't buy it.

    ?

I mean, has there been any observation of more gold/purple rolls depending on how many gold/purple heroes you unlocked?

I usually get a purple/gold card within 10 rolls, if that's what your're referring too.

I was referring to this statement:

Would unlocking more heroes increase your future spirit count... Personally I don't think so, but I have never tested.

From personal experience, yes. However, it is only fractional.

I tested it out after being bored one day with excess stam so I went and recruited all the Royals. My spirit count did increase but as I said not enough to really make a marked difference.

japerdog is correct. As a fact if recruiting useless heroes does anything then its to decrease the chance to get a hero that you use after the game decided to give you a "purple" or a "gold"

that is because the game predetermined to give you a gold or a purple and in what order (first, second or 3rd pick). the hero itself it pulled randomly out of your inn. therefore the more useless heroes you have, the lower is your chance in getting what you need.
in the past before they "fixed" the drop of the hero, some would exploit that and refresh until they have gotten the hero they need.
