do it yourself and communicate with your guild members to agree on vent, skype, ymsgr, teamspeak, mumble or whatever your preferences are

The host of vent has to pay though, that's why we always used Skype for evony at least. not as nearly much planning with the timing here imo
only to get by spies, otherwise guild chat works pretty well I'd say

An in-game forum (that is not public like this one, but linked to the guild) could be very useful. Guildmails get lost with time. That would be a very nice place to post important information for the guild, information that can be accessed at any time.

Not everyone can use vent. Some people can barely write in English, do you expect them to speak? Moreover, I like to be on and off, like many people, so I can't follow a discussion on vent. My guild set a vent, but most people never joined. I think a maximum of 6 people did.

actually there is several different providers, i remember to use the services from a provider offering 15 "seats" for vent and charging $25/year. if you have your own server you can host vent, mumble and teamspeak for free and get your own users to join free. mumble used to be freeware and 0 charge but i heard they started to charge for it because of the abuse and "leechers".

wasn't that what the "groups" are for on this forum? i didnt know you can not restrict to who got access to your group and who doesnt

We used Raidcall for a while but then people lost interest.

It would be nice to have a server to server chat system or a "global" chat where people can go into an event chat room to say things.

This would allow people to say congratulations without having to do it through a messenger or an alt.
