I understand the reasoning behind this transfer is the cost of cards and my question is if my Khan is saint 4 with 8 stars what should Dawn be to make a good transfer. Thanks in advance for replies.

it doesnt matter, the existing sancts will be deleted and replaced with random ones. to be able to transfer your dawn needs to have at least 9 stars. thats why i would suggest if you have the coins to transfer from kahn to dawn first then build up dawn and then transfer back to khan. that way your khan will end up with 5 or 6 stars. dont remember exactly how many will be lost, but someone posted it before. i believe for the 8 star transfer you will loose 2 and have 6 on dawn who will loose 1 when transfering back and lets you end up with a 5 star kahn but i might be off by a star

Just had a quick look, I have a 10 star arch 5 dawn, to transfer to any other gold hero they would become arch 1 and 9 stars, so lose 4 saints and 1 star.
