On some game I used to play years ago, can not remember the name, players could donate (not sell or trade) some items to members of their Guild that were less powerful they they were. I can not remember the exact details about how the less powerful was calculated. Since alts are most always less powerful that the player that controls them they would not be a factor in that kind of setup.
