Rune Combination Issue

Could it simply be a case that the advantage rune outranks the preciseness rune?

i think i know what you mean:
i think you had a stash of lower runes combined into blue or purple next to the lv 6 advantage and on the bottom right the level 8 hitrating, that would merge the lower runes into the advantage, possibly getting it to level 8 and slightly more XP than the preciseness and swallowed that then too because it combines the runes from left to right to bottom on the rune screen

No ways if I have a stash of lower lvled runes would it take from 6 to 8 in a single shot
I think I clicked the combine all button WITHOUT dragging the one rune to the other which would have resulted in me seeing a confirmation box..

well it was just a guess... had happened to me before that way

PS: lv6 is 15k and lv8 is 61k... not that big of a difference when players at your level have mostly lv9-11 runes

After testing this issue out, I can finally draw my conclusions

I took to purple runes (Yellows are bit precious), and I took the artisanship up to lvl 6, then moved it to one side, then I took the hawkishness and put it up to lvl 4.
I had the lvl 6 artisanship on the left side and the lvl 4 hawkishness on the right side, and clicked 'specifically' the combine all, now they were the ONLY two runes on the rune board.
The lvl 6 artisanship went into the lvl 4 hawkishness, make it a lvl 6 hawkishness.

I tried the same thing with a lvl 6 tranquility and a lvl 4 tactics and the exact same thing happened...

Then I took the lvl 6 Hawkishness from earlier and dragged it on top of a lvl 3 partisan, only this time the hawkishness absorbed the lvl 3 partisan and because of the hawkishness current exp it stayed hawkishness and lvl 6, but gained the exp from the lvl 3 partisan.

Then I took a lvl 6 tactics and lvl 4 mesa, instead, this time I had a stash of runes to go with it.
The lvl 6 tactics was on the RHS and the lvl 4 mesa was on the LHS, and I had a stash of only green runes.
Still the lvl 4 mesa absorbed the lvl 6 tactics with everything along with it.

Next, I took a lvl 3 cunning and had it on the LHS with a lvl 6 mesa on the RHS, along with a stash of green only runes.
I hit the 'combine all' button and this time the lvl 3 cunning went into the lvl 6 mesa along with the stash of green runes on the RHS of the lvl 6 mesa .. the lvl 6 mesa became a lvl 7 mesa.

So, what I conclude is that if you have 'specifically' have the SAME TYPE OF RUNE and NO MATTER what the same type of runes are on the LHS and the RHS of the rune board, the rune on the LHS WILL combine with the SAME CLASS OF RUNE on the RHS

Lmao, I would go through the trouble if I knew how to attach a screenshot to the forums at the very least, I've had it explained to me by numerous people but have never been able to do it .. oh well

sorry to tell you, but i tried to duplicate this and the runes always merge into the one with the more XP and i tried placing top left, top right, bottom left and right. always merge the right way unless there is more than 2 runes and the runes from the top left corner to the bottom right add higher exp value than the bottom right rune, then it will merge into the top left (which can also be a level 1 yellow into a level 10 yellow combining to a level 11 if the lv1+unwanted others are bigger than the bottom right).

You explained that perfectly...

May I ask did you 'specifically' take 2 of the same class of rune such as 2 yellow runes or two purple rune. Also did you make sure that they are BOTH higher than lvl 1 with one of the runes being being at least 1 lvl higher than the other.

i did with the following:
4-6 purple
2-7 purple
5-8 purple
7-9 purple

also with yellows but low ones like 2-3, 2-4, 3-4, 3-5 since all my important runes are 12 and have a few that are still 11
