Lightbulb A Sailing Idea to Stop the Passing of Maps

Passing of the map to endlessly sink people on the sea is a form of bullying in my opinion. It's against the TOS (alts interaction) and it's freaking annoying, lol

So here is an idea that would stop it in most cases. What would happen if you had to sail with the power that your ranking dictates? It only makes sense because when you want to sail, you want to cross. Why would you want to be any less powerful than you can be? The only reason the power down on the seas, would be to pass a map.

Come on Tynon! Stop the bullies of the seas! If you aren't going to deal with the alts (which honestly would be too difficult), at least make it so they can't be used as easily. Please?

I've done it before, and it was fun. You don't need an alt to do this, you can have a friend in another realm/guild take maps from you. It isn't necessarily against the TOS.

I would only be able to sail in a hybrid between my main and banish formation then... higher power doesn't really mean stronger. It would also be a huge pain to figure out which formation you are allowed to use when it's halfway between switches.

Perhaps limit people to two sink/steals a day?

Allowing us to NOT rob other people maps is kind of defeating the purpose of the whole thing
As g34 said, limiting 50% of the sails may work

i think what he meant was that players have to sail with other players of similar power?
only problem is that the top players would never sail, like i for example have double the power of our currently ranked #2 and then there is also the fact that between our #1 and our #12 (first page in ranking) are 400m power difference.
also, i see powering down to loose maps to other players, provoke revenges, etc as a part of the tactics in this game and it would be just boring without it. that being said when your server advanced like ours, usually most players migrated into the same guild, have all the cities and nothing else to do. this is due to ucool neglecting this game and could be fixed by repopulating/merging the servers.
that being said, i would like to point out that "bullies" in the game are inevitable since its a wargame and players worked hard (or paid a lot) to be dominant in the game and want to exercise that power. so the "bullies" are not really bullies but in most cases players who enjoy the game. they often picked enemies and are at war with them.
i think the water part is working fine and as intended and priorities should be put on fixing the exploits and bugs that are currently going on so certain players dont have those unfair advantages anymore.

EDIT PS: powering down to steal maps with your own alts is against the TOS and should be documented and reported via support

I agree Kaisim & pirates does not have greatest of rewards to really warrant changing the system. Instead of getting 10 gems on Saturdays for sailing at the finish they give us 5 to sail and 5 to finish (plus buffs). There will be more lag time in-between updates/patches to allow players to narrow the gap of coiners/non-coiners.

..going slightly off subject, if Tynon were to open 2 servers in the same time zone on the same day, this would allow an opportunity for future server merges that would be more balanced and rejuvenate the game. Seasonal server merges should be a regular thing (:

I am saying you sail with your power on the rankings board in your best set up. That doesn't change who you sail with. This would make it nearly impossible to have a weaker profile rob your map on shore.

actually my best form (daily pvp/rag/GW) and my highest power form have over 200m difference (260/490m), what would you do about that?
honestly it doesnt seem appealing to me. this is another one of those things where players try to find a solution to the personalized problem on the server by generalizing it and assuming everyone is effected. you need to understand that the game is designed that way, its for fun.
as much as i agree to players shouldnt be trading maps to alts (simply because you cant have alts) doesnt mean that i disagree to powering down. in the past that was the best way to get our wildfights.

if you'd ask how to fix the "problem" then, i'd suggest to watch the coast, wait for him to power down and then revenge him. the gain in coins should be nice for you... ofc its just a temp fix until he spends his coins first and then powers down after...

^^ Probably the best the solution. It'll limit 'map swapping' but not take away all of the fun. To be honest the alt thing has gotten out of control. Yes it's expected as with all F2P MMO's but there should be some kind of penalty there to prevent this kind of bullying. I'm tired of seeing this happening and people complaining about it on the forum.

It's only a game at the end of the day yet a small number of big players with a 'god complex' think it's ok to pick on a small one because of some minor offence to their 'delicate' disposition. Then call it 'part of the game'. It isn't.

Forum Moderators are volunteers and are unable to fix in game problems

i beg to differ and if i may remind you that they increased the sails from 3 to 4 and daily maps to claim from 1 to 3, so the lower players get more chances to sail. maybe cutting it in half isnt the best solution but to maybe raise available maps to 5 and leave the sails at 4... let maps stack instead of exchanging them and/or let the players decide which map to choose to sail with... etc
there is so many better solutions to this than limiting the game even further.... think expanding
