But if you use the server time zone as the basis of the updates then it would not be as disruptive.
It most be close to server reset in the Asian servers. Can any one from there post if the patch went live at reset or not when it happens?

Although each time zone has it's own base server time, Tynon is based in the US. So when the devs update the game they do it all at the same time since the servers are located in one place.

That is true but there is no reason that they could stagger installing the updates based on the time zone of the server. They could even group all the US servers as one and install it at server reset west coast. That would be 4 AM east cost so it would be OK. That means that there would only be three different install times, Asia, Europe and America. Not too much to ask, I think.

are they really based in the US? i always thought it was europe because of the time stamps of customer service and the format of the date used is all euro.
either way, i dont see anything bad about letting it happen during night time of the US servers since the major pop is from there anyways. other game makers do it that way for the past 20 years and there is no need to re-invent the wheel.
that being said, last major patch we missed an entire day, thats both banishes and GW included. the servers came back up during lady and i think it was at the worst time possible, even asia complained. also it takes 1 guy to upload it over night, but during the day, the entire team is sitting on their hands waiting. players as well and dont forget, only players who can play are happy players and dont start looking into other games while waiting for tynon. offline players cant spend their gems or buy new ones, and so on...
To be honest as much as it's an annoyance, I would rather they fixed the issues the game has instead of focusing on the timing of one off patch launch. It's not like it happens that often.
And yes Kasisim, uCool is US based.

The time stamps on the forum are US Eastern. uCool'a address is in Massachusetts. The servers us to be in Las Vegas, but I think they moved them somewhere else.

yeah, one of the rare events i realy agree with you and am convinced it would have been best to generate some small patches inbetween to fix bugs, etc and then come out with the update. unfortunately they focused on the update and forgot about the "fixing".
i believe you, the odd part is the date stamp, the format and everything. i mean, even the forum is like 4 hrs ahead of EST. nothing matches, you know what i mean?
no they are not, i posted at exactly 6:30pm and it shows 10:34pm, thats EST + 4:04hrs

I'm just wondering and or pondering the fact is there anyone still around powerful enough to start with and that play's Beta that is already at the top to do the testing?
