i was thinking about that too and suggested it a long time ago, but then after rethinking it, i disregarded the idea because i would never "waste" 400m on a divine lv1 rune when i can get it almost to level 11 with the same coins instead. back then someone else suggested a vip based auto combine feature additionally to the one we have. i liked the idea to be able to put a checkmark and have the game generate and autocombine the runes into one until it reaches the next stage.

Well, then the game will be a bit bot-like and in the TOS it says how we must use no bot-like tools for the game that plays the game for us.
If Tynon had to implement this feature, then they will be basically giving us something that does the job for us.. unless of course I'm misreading your OP, then please rephrase it.

Not sure what kaisim meant but....They should just give us something that does the job for us....

For something like Lab, we should do ourselves because it actually take some strategy and skill to complete. There is nothing good about flipping runes. That's just a complete waste of time.

Back to OP, why would u want to sell your fragments?
Never know tynon may release a new superrune

i am not sure what you misunderstood about it and why you would assume it was a bot. i forgot who suggested it back then but currently we have auto-combine for the runes (vip5 i think?). he suggested a second stage of auto combine that would acquire and combine the runes until the next rune level is reached.

back to the OP: there is no need to sell fragments and no one forces you to waste your time in the rune temple. fragments store and dont take inventory space and you use them when you need them. runes can be leveled up with synergy if you dont need new ones.
