This might sound like a joke, but its not. A serious question: Can a server be so bad that Tynon would have to close it down? I know that if the Devs feel someone has gotten too extreme that they would ban them but they really only ban the account associated with the character the player used. And if multiple people are so extreme they still just ban the account that the character is associated with, right? But what if one or more players were so extreme and they were banned and once they realized they were banned they used something other than that one character? Does it just become an endless cycle of banning a couple people forever?
There are a few players in one guild who have gone from- yo mamma stuff- to quite disgusting email and PM's. I got one after being attacked in the wild and winning. That was all it took and the PM I got is far too disturbing to post here. They have sent some people death threats. This was recently and a few just quit the game over it. It's not like anyone thinks they will for real murder them but that's not really the point, is it? I mean, who wants to play a game and get a message detailing how someone wants to murder you? The big players have told us to write a ticket and include snips but, really that brings me back to my original question. Tynon MIGHT block the character and then we're stuck with lunatics who are now madder about losing that character.
World Chat, even if it starts out okay, they interrupt it and bring the whole thing to a screaming session. There is one coiner who is egging them on and encouraging them to harass players. But, it is largely believed that one of the harassing players has been that coiner all along. They join in EVERY TIME the harassing players start stuff. They also have been logging into inactive and active accounts. It's not a guess, they are misspelling the same words and once forgot to switch characters when they wanted it to look like someone else was agreeing with them.
Realm chat is now something to avoid completely. New players join and just go off in it.
The other coiners are putting themselves in the line of fire to keep the rest of us from getting anymore of these messages. We are aware they are doing that on purpose. They are writing people and asking if the messages have stopped and if we're okay and stuff. It has worked for some of the players but not all and you never know if a blinking PM or green mail is going to be a notice or some demented sick message.
Most of us little guys and light coiners want a new server just to get out. No one, even the coiners, wants a server merger, it would just expose other players. The coiners said that if that ever was announced they would try and stop it. These aren't coiners just wanting to protect their standings. All the ones I've talked to have said they play other servers and generally started this one because they didn't have much left to do on the other ones.
So .... Can a server be so bad that it needs to be shut down or is it really worth how much worse things might get by submitting our snips and having the person still there after one character was banned?
