    To clarify:

At no time will uCool, or any of the staff ask you to log in to an external website in order to make a purchasae.

We all know the score here, and not to do it.

It's been reported, it's being reviewed, and until then, use your best sense and do not fall for it.

does that mean its time for tynon to get attention from the devs?

I know this is the players fault for going to the websites, but why can't tynon make a filter for the account names(or a better one if there already is one). So many players on my server named but***ker, kill******s, ext ext. Also even before this scam there were allot of accounts such as gamemanager or administration that could be seen as a tynon employee accounts by someone. So tynon show us you are still engaged in this game and actually do something instead of a mail to cover you own rear end.

Funny there is a filter for words here that are names of in game accounts. Kinda proves my point.
i gave up reporting those names over a year ago. (at least back then) they used to force them to change the name (i.e. pussyriot into blayd maybe the most famous example). however, its just sloppy programming to let players generate those names.
on the other hand, its nearly impossible to avoid those names if you allow ASCII and symbols like . , < > / ... etc
that being said, you will never be able to avoid names like "customer service", "stanley", etc. that would simply take common sense from the players not to fall for this, however many have proven over and over again that they have not the tiniest sliver of such

If this is really a hacking group and not just one hacker, their intent is not just to deal damage to this one game. They're after credit card numbers and google play passwords - they're not going to just stop with damaging accounts on this game. The trend of most online gaming is heading towards apps - smartphone, tablet and apps you can play on your computer with bluestacks. The only reason I can see for a group of hackers to spend any time on Tynon is to get an idea of their coding schema so they can branch out into other games that may share the same vulnerabilities. Whether they get the access by fishing, hacking or befriending people in-game and then defiling that trust, it's aggressive, harmful, and action needs to be taken against them. Anyone who is a host or vice host of a guild should have this in mind and actively warn members of scams and check the forums often. There are some children playing the game as well, they won't be as adept in avoiding scams as adults. And anyone, under the right conditions, can make a mistake. That's what these hackers / thieves / cyber-thugs hope for. They send massive barrages of messages out and hope someone falls for it. For every several 1000 messages they send out electronically with the touch of a key, if only one person falls and they can secure a password or a credit card number, that's all the incentive they need to continue doing it.

Do any of us need to even consider how much damage this has caused recently? 100 banks were affected recently, 33 of them in the USA, the rest in many other nations with the hackers appearing to originate in Russia. That doesn't even take into account the hundreds of thousands of social security numbers stolen from 'secure servers' in hospitals and insurance providers or the credit card numbers that were taken from Target stores (110 million records compromised), or the hack at Sony (102 million records compromised), Anthem / Wellpoint health insurance had 69 to 80 million records compromised, Home Depot (56 million credit / debit cards compromised)... And the list goes on.

Yes this is a game and yes, as some have posted, the hackers may not be getting money out of it. But it is a place for them to train and they may be able to hack into other games that use similar coding where they can get to more sensitive information. And if they're willing to damage accounts in a game with no economic payback, think what they would do if they could get credit card account numbers.

In any event, it's not something to be taken lightly and anything that can be done as a deterrent is an action we should all support. Repairing the damage done to the accounts that were affected would be a step in that direction to let these hackers know that at least here they have no real power.

That is very dramatic. I don't know if it's true, that it is a huge hacking crew, or one nutcase. It is still good to take precautions. You have to admit, if Sony and Target, and other major firms can be hacked, Tynon would be child's play. Nontheless, there is no indication since that one fool on our server, 2. Use common sense, protect your logins, don't go to any site offered through suspect offerings and you should be ok. Always use a different pw for a game acct than what is on your real email.

While we seemed to get a few new players around the time this happened, they didn't send any mail over on our server. Keeping an eye on them, but they don't seem to talk at all.
