the odds aren't 1 in 5. In fact, I don't think anyone actually knows the exact odds. The 5 Card Choice Game in Tynon is just for show. It doesn't matter which of the 5 you choose, the reward has already been determined. You can prove this for a certainty by doing the open/close trick on the Guild Treasure Chests. Next time you open a Guild Treasure chest, don't hit shuffle. Instead, remember what 5 items you see and close the window by clicking the "x" in the top right corner. Now, open the chest again and notice which item still remains. Keep doing this until you find the single item that never changes. This will be your reward. Once you realize that there is no choice involved with Tavern, Laby, whatever, you can remove a large amount of angst surrounding this part of the game. In addition the open/close trick with guild chests is very useful if you get a hero card. If by opening and closing you find that you are going to get either a purple or gold hero, you can keep clicking over and over and the exact hero will keep changing. That way you can click until you see a Lance card (purple) or perhaps an Aphro card (gold) and then shuffle and you will get the exact hero card that you want. It doesn't happen so often but when it does the trick really helps because you don't end up with another useless Queen Cleopatra card or whatever else you don't want. I would also add, that with the tavern it is probably best just to spin only on Tuesday and focus on spirits. The payout of spirits is pretty consistent, so there isn't much disappointment there. Then use the spirits to get the exact cards you want. Any card you get for credits by spinning then just becomes a happy bonus. Looking at the tavern this way helps reduce frustration in my opinion. Of course, your mileage may vary.
