Maria for free

I'm not sure if this has been posted but it is possible to get Maria without buying her in the newbie package. I did not buy her in the newbie package so have been playing the game without her.
I just got her card in the Casino.
Click on her card in your inventory and select "use".
She is then available to use from your Hero Inn or Formation depending on whether your formation was full or not.

That has GOT to be a rare drop indeed. In almost a year and a half of play, I've gotten ONE gold card out of HT. And have yet to get more than one purple star, 2,000K coin, 1,000K credit, or two scroll fragments from casino. 200 rep, max. 10 gems from chest in casino as well.

nope, not rare at all, many people have gotten lucky with maria this way.

Started a toon on regular server after they kicked the plug out of the Beta server. LVL 80, 10 million points and already I got a Maria, Shayd and Adamanti cards from Casino. (can't use yet). as well as 100 gems and a scroll fragment. Card Broker rains purple cards. Also took a city in GW with my guild of 1. That's the deterministic universe for you. No luck here.

I have a teammate who got Maria from casino on 3 different servers. I've never rolled a card (any card). Maybe they're banking my luck to roll a big pile o' gems.

I've won Maria on server 14 and 104 both on free spin only once each time. Guess I'm just lucky!
