    Cool Counter-attacks

    Hey all,

    In your collective observations, do counter-attacks only occur after block? I am thinking perhaps, they occur in response to attacks which have not been blocked as well (of course could be seeing things playing in the wee hours of the morning on a very laggy machine >.<)
    Trying to assess the relative value of Break (Infalability) Vs Hit (Preciseness, which I unfortunately don't possess)

    And on another note, for convenience sake, it would be great if there could be another subsection created specifically for rune discussion. Search produces and stream of often useless junk to wade through. Visual perusal of a forum subsection, 'might' make it easier

    I have seen dodge counters - mainly in heavens palace
    I believe this occurs when the stats are high enough to trigger a dodge and a block.

    I have also seen counters with neither a dodge or a block registered. This mainly occurs in Heroic Realms with the main boss such as Baron Fuego

    I am not sure if these odd ball occurrences are because of manipulated stats in Heavens Palace and Heroic Realms or if you can eventually with runes and Saintings achieve these results in a normal PvP situation

    Or if these odd ball occurrences I have witness multiple times are merely the results of glitches

    Thanks for replies, very interesting a counter after a dodge. Interestingly I still see dodge and block/counter when fighting minotaurs in labyrinth, although on easy I am now killing them in two hits. Wonder how much power, I guess one-hit before block/counter-attack is negated.

    a dodge + block/counter should happen when the enemy has both abilities and both are activated by the attacker's assault

    there are tons of counter attacks where neither blocking or dodging take place herby


    and yes mattp,in fuego its extremely common for this to happen,im assuming its a bug. fuegos fire guards counter attack without blocking or dodging at all. and before anyone says well it was a display problem or lag,it wasnt because it displayed my attack,then registered and showed my damage i hit with it and they still did a counter attack.

    I usually talk about PvP battles, since that's what matters.

    Quest bosses have "special" abilities sometimes, or ridiculously high statistics that normal mechanics warp when fighting them.

    Example of this is mage blocking. Mages in PvP NEVER block. While the second Envoy in heroic realm blocks a lot.

    Mages in Level 1 Normal Lab block
    And you probably haven't seen a mage in PvP block because most people think its not possible, so do not have block runes on them. This may change once people think mages can block in PvP and try out using block runes on them as we all open more rune slots and get more of the big 3 runes.

    The problem is there aren't really much choices for mages that are actually beneficial as far as rune slots,there isn't even a divine rune that fully benefits them without taking away from another. that's why i posted a idea of a new divine rune for mages,mages are at too high of a disadvantage in the game.
