Heaven Palace issue

I was wondering, is it possible to remove heroes before the Palace begins as to decrease the power when you actually go higher? Basically I am wondering when do I remove heroes from my formation for Heaven Palace? If I am the best on the server, and I dont remove heroes, people cannot defeat me. When must I change the formation so the heaven Palace will update it as to how I set it? Does anyone have an answer to this question?

Your going to have to lose your spot like drop heroes and let a guildmate beat and then take the spot back or something.
