it is my understanding that when powering up my hero (it takes 3 blue start) that on a fail only one start is lost...
I have been loosing all the stars that are used in the attempt...
is this the way u want it to work..(in that case u should change the notice to all stars lost) or refund the bunch of stars I have lost so far....
also if you are interested I think loosing 3 stars on each attempt is a lot to loose....!!!

Hover your mouse over the tooltip in the stars tab
i think you are confusing the word "stars" with "medals"....the 3 "stars" you are losing are called Blue Medals, not stars. The stars you don't lose when it says that you don't lose stars are the stars you get when the medals work.
If you put the mouse pointer over the ? above the word "Buy" it will tell you how many starts you can loose.
what are starts ?

yea the medals are consumed each try otherwise everyone would have full stars already. usually ever other upgrade attempt you will lose a star if it fails so it get harder to actually gain a star
