1) Too many people complain and b***h about having gems taken from them by members of other realms.

2) If you already can get gems in regular arena, no need to make gem stakes (or possibly any stakes) in UA. It is redundant, and may result in the top 10 in each realm getting more gem stakes than other players which would be a HUGE no-no.

Matt's suggestion only applied (so far as I could tell) to rank rewards and not stakes. That would mean the players in UA would not be able to get gem stakes and would therefore be missing out on gems that players who aren't in the top 10 of realm arena would be getting.

Oh ok, I thought MattP was advocating for two arena systems. In that case, the stakes for UA should be the same as regular arena.

Look as far as I can tell your realm rank is base don your UA rank. SO if the highest ranked person in your realm in 3 in UA they are #1 in realm.
SO yes I get what if you are 30th making you 10th in realm and 9th in realm is at 18 in UA. ANhaving issues changing your realm rank, but I dont think it will be an issue in the long run.

Just reduce UA rewards and give rewards for realm and UA with hodling #1 in both equals what you get now for #1 in UA Simple. Adding 2 different arenas would be nice, but could come later

I have been shifting places there, but never with a guildmate.
I decided to check realm ranking a few days ago and to my surprise my realm rank said I was 3rd.
I dropped down to beat the one who had 1st on there profile.
This rectified the realm rank.

I would suggest that teh devs actually look at some of teh older servers and carefully go through the logs and see in the realm rankingas are doing what the should be doing. Becuase if wildflower was #1 in realm before UA and never fought a guildmate she should not be able to drop to 3 in realm. And teh fact she had to drop and beat teh person who was 1 in realm to regain 1 in realm makes it make less sense.

to me it should only work 1 of 2 ways

1. UA rank determines realm rank - which does not seem to be happening - but could coasue #2 or lower in realm to become #1 in realm without ever fight #1 in realm by attacking someone higher in UA then #1.

or

2 realm rank only changes when people in the realm fight each other in UA - which sort of seems how it is designed based on what some have said - but does not explain how wildflower dropped from 1 to 3

Option 2 would be very confusing since there would be people that are lower in the UA (the only arena that they can fight in) that have a higher rank in the RA. Since the people on one realm can be widely scattered in the UA it would be difficult to attack a guildy.

Option 1 presents some issues for HP because some one from one realm can change who ends up in HP for another realm.

I am thinking perhaps it was only during the initial reshuffle into UA that this reshuffle in rank occured.
The only way to influence realm rank now is by beating those from your realm.
UA has no influence on realm rank.

I am pretty happy as it is though and all would be better handled if we just get an extra icon.

I am thinking the initial reshuffle may have something to do with your situation also. I also agree that it is probably attacks between realm members that determines realm rank alone.
Now I get having access to just the realm arena so you can influence realm rank would be nice but only if we switched to having realm arena rewards and UA rewards as i mentioned earlier. Otherwise you realm arena rank means nothing unless you trying to influence HP which is not necessarily the devs want you to do.
