Runes or Mount?

I currently have the white bear at 6 stars, and my runes are all level 9 or 10. I was contemplating buying the dragon as a mount, which should provide an additional 20 M power. If I spend the same amount of money on runes, that would be about 5 M power. I am aware that power doesn't necessarily equate to strength (as it is, I am competitive with players 15-20 M stronger than I), but it costs a huge amount of coins to upgrade a lv. 10 rune, for what I see as very little tangible benefit. What do you people think?

Save for wind runner, No need in half assing it. Dragon will get you by for a couple months but you will be right back where you are now. I Stopped ugrading my runes to get wind runner, now my runes are maxed going for the big one!!!

I purchased the aurora which only increases your health and nothing else. Most of my runes were al level 12 and only a few defensive runes were still at 10 and 11. When you do the transfer in stars from one - mount to you new mount you will only get a 70% transfer so you may lose a star and not gain as much power (health) as you think. I was a bit disappointed as I thought my overall power would have gone up more. If upgrading your runes will bring in more coins then I would wait to purchase the mount and if at all save for the aurora or wind runner. If you decided to upgrade your runes first, do not feed the mount as this would be a waste since only 70% will transfer to your new mount

Runes. I'm guessing with lvl 9-10 runes that you're not pulling in over 100mil coins/day. Until you are, best to build runes. My $0.02

I'm only a colonel right now (soon to be general), so it will be a long time before I'm a marshall and can get the wind runner. In terms of power I am 25th on my server, but a long way behind #24. If I started now (I have 600 M coins), it would take me 7 months to get the aurora. If I start saving when and if I buy the dragon (in a couple weeks), it would take 9 months. Intuitively, I think that the dragon would help me earn more coins/day than runes.

Having that extra health isnt gonna really help you if your important runes arent up over 10. the same people and bosses you are having trouble with will still give you trouble with the extra hp. whatever mount you choose to upgrade to is irrelevant for this discussion in my opinion, you would be better served upgrading a few advantages and what not than getting the mount.

i have been asked this question many times from my guild. the answer i always give is that you should pick the ride that you can afford in a reasonable amount of time.
then focus back on your runes. runes have a limit and once the runes are on 12, you have nothing to spend your coins on anyways except for a blacksmith once in a while. so its important to find a balance. you also have to realize that after a certain time (stars, feeds, xp) on the mount its nearly impossible to level it up unless you push thousands of gems into it.

I saved 3 months for a Chimera and got it and I must say that it has made a very significant difference.
It was totally worth and I don't regret one second of it. Mounts run away but runes don't! (Food for thought)

The biggest mount available as soon as you can save enough for it. I Have aurora 392million power with bear on no stars/ 508million power with aurora 5 stars After transfer it took me just a couple days to hit 5 stars. Once you max runes all you have left is gears and saints plus mount stars upgrades.
